Recording starts for Joe’s new CD of chamber music...(March 10)
Joe is to start recording sessions for a new CD of his chamber music. Featuring great
artists and some surprise elements, it is planned for release in August ‘10.
BBC Radio 3 recording of Ruby featuring Colin Currie...(Nov 09)
Colin Currie is to play Joe’s percussion concerto Ruby with the BBC Philharmonic
Orchestra on Wednesday 25 Novemeber. The recording will take place at 7pm in Studio 7
at the BBC, Oxford Road Manchester and will be broadcast soon on Radio 3. Further

Joe teams up with BBC Philharmonic for Versus Cancer gig...(Oct 09)
Joe is orchestrating a special acoustic collaboration for legendary Manchester band
James. Joined on stage by The BBC Philharmonic orchestra, the 1 hour set will form part
of the Versus Cancer concert at MEN arena on 12 December. Tickets available from

Joe to sit on ‘In The City’ panel...(Sep 09)
Joe will be speaking alongside Paul Hardcastle and Helienne Lindvall at the Manchester
music conference In the City. The panel, entitled ‘Composing with the artist and for
different media’ takes place on Tues 20th October at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
Elbow and the Hallé gets breathtaking reviews...(July 09)
Joe’s collaboration with two Manchester giants, Elbow and the Hallé Orchestra, has
received widespread critical acclaim across the board. Described by the band as “the two
best nights of our life”, the now legendary performances took place at the Bridgewater Hall
as part of Manchester International Festival
Joe working with Elbow and the Hallé orchestra…(June 09)
The Manchester International Festival has commissioned Joe to orchestrate songs from
Elbow’s back catalogue. Joe will also be conducting the two concerts at the Bridgewater
Hall in July 2009
Joe nominated for The Best of Manchester Awards 2009…(June 09)

Possibly the world’s best trumpeter and percussionist , Hakan Hardenberger and Colin
Currie have formed a duo. Joe has written a new piece for their concerts which will receive
it’s world premier in Hamburg and Manchester in May 2009
